26 incher raises a few eyebrows…

The telephone has been ringing off the hook this morning. The river is on the rise after 3-5 inches of rain locally, Water temps are in the low 60’s throughout the catch and release section so bank on seeing lots of active fish. Word is getting out about the 26″ fish that took a Caddis on the 4th of July in the catch and release section. No fish story-Gene stopped in on the afternoon of the 4th to say that he helped the lucky angler measure the fish before its release. Masemore to the dam will fish fine as the water drops -this morning the gauge was around 180 Cfs. A great level for fishing.By this afternoon and it will start rolling and may start dropping by this evening. As the river level drops, big fish move on big streamers #4-6 Sculpins and large Copper Johns #10-12. Terrestrials this weekend will be out in force as the weather warms up Saturday and Sunday. Ants, beetles and grasshoppers sized #12-16 are worth a shot and caddis continue to account for lots of fish in the riffles.

Note: Feeling lucky? Who will catch the next monster brown?
