Gunpowder Fishing Report

The Gunpowder has been flowing at 160 cfs and the water temp is 51degreese in the peak of the day. With these higher flows be careful wading. Be on the lookout for new logs and debris that may have move into a spot. The fishing has been quite good recently. Using a dry dropper rig or an indicator rig has been most effective. Throwing a caddis dry with a small pheasant tail off the back has been producing the most results. Fishing a Spanish bullet or any small heavy mayfly nymph with a caddis nymph above it on the indicator rig has been working well. If you are looking to throw streamers for some larger fish now is the time to do it throwing a brown or black Complex Twist Bugger or a large black Wooly Bugger has been working well. If you are looking to sharpen up you fishing skills or just want to learn how to fly fish book a trip with us and we’ll get you out on the river. Tight lines!
