The Gunpowder is currently flowing at 35 cfs and the water temperature is at 50 degrees and will rise to 54 today. These past few days on the river have been on fire. the Sulfur hatch is in full swing and there are even large amounts of caddis coming off towards the evening. We are seeing the greatest number of sulfurs come off around 2-6 in the afternoon. Fishing a 14-16 sulfur dry in a pale yellow color on 6x has been the go-to rig for this hatch. Fish have been eager to rise to a dry but they are being selective on the size and color of the fly. Make sure to stop in the shop to pick up some of our new sulfur pattern. If you are looking to learn how to catch fish on the Gunpowder or want to get dialed in for the amazing sulfur, caddis, and terrestrial fishing that is to come on the next two months make sure to book a trip with us by calling the shop. Tight lines!
