The Gunpowder River is clear and flowing at 115 Cfs and is 61 degrees F. Small nymphs are also productive in a double nymph rig. Dry fly action has been spotty, but terrestrials have been catching fish such as the McGinty Bee. Tricos and Caddis are effective patterns for Dry fly action.
Even with higher temperatures during the day, the upper stretches of the river are still staying in the low 60s, but the lower sections have warmed up.
The Backwater Angler website has also been updated with its catalog of used rods and reels which can be found here: https://backwaterangler.com/product-category/gear/
Please note the shop will be open Saturday September 5th from 10-3.
