Gunpowder River Fishing Report

The Gunpowder is flowing at a 161 cfs and the water temp is 51 degrees up near the dam. The lower river below where little falls comes in is still very muddy after all this rain. In the upper river the fishing is very good. We are starting to see Sulfurs out on the river with the occasional caddis hatch as well. Fish have been eager to come up to dies in the mid to late afternoon. Fishing nymphs or streamers in the mornings have been producing the best results. The Gunpowder has been flowing at 160 cfs and the water temp is 51degreese in the peak of the day. With these higher flows be careful wading. Be on the lookout for new logs and debris that may have move into a spot. The fishing has been quite good recently. Using a dry dropper rig or an indicator rig has been most effective. Throwing a caddis dry with a small pheasant tail off the back has been producing the most results.
