Fly Fishing Yellowstone National Park

Thanks to Roman Kostrubiak for the following picture of one of the Park’s 10, 000 hydrothermal features and post from a Yellowstone National Park fly fishing trip taken in late September: Theaux, Rocky, and Jason, My trip to Yellowstone Park was quite eventful. We drove up in cloudy cool and quite overcast conditions.I fished the Firehole River in the Fountain Flats area with a very intense baetis hatch going on. Thanks to Bill Feiss for the following: Theaux, Sorry for the delay in this note. I wanted to thank you all for the search and retrieve of my new Scott 2wt. rod and reel. I ducked out of the shop armed with my new stick and went directly to the Big Falls Rd. jump in on the Gunpowder for an hour of fishing. It lasted three. I recently made the drive to the Savage and North Branch of the Potomac for a week of fishing. The North Branch is known for giving up big browns this month, and that coupled with recent stockings brought out more pressure than I have seen all summer. After catching three rainbows in the 17-18 inch range on the North Branch on a crowded weekday, I decided to focus on the Savage for the remainder of the week. We just received a big shipment of streamers, many of them are classic hair and feather wing patterns.
