The Gunpower is currently flowing at 101 cfs and the temperature is swinging from 52 up to 56 in the middle of the day. We have been seeing lots of caddis and BWO’s in the early morning and evening. With this higher flows and cool water temps the fish have been chasing streamers like crazy throughout the day. We recommend fishing the upper river you are looking to throw big bugs now is the time. The Gunpowder is currently flowing at 38 cfs and the water temp is 53 degrees. With these warmer water temps the bug activity has increased. We are starting to see lots more tan Caddis alongside Sulfurs and BWO’s. The fishing has been excellent this past week, and we expect more of the same this week. We are starting to see bugs come off earlier in the day since the water is warmer. Its not a bad idea to get up early and hit the river. The Gunpowder is currently flowing at 35 cfs and the water temperature is at 50 degrees and will rise to 54 today. These past few days on the river have been on fire. the Sulfur hatch is in full swing and there are even large amounts of caddis coming off towards the evening. We are seeing the greatest number of sulfurs come off around 2-6 in the afternoon. Fishing a 14-16 sulfur dry in a pale yellow color on 6x has been the go-to rig for this hatch. The Gunpowder River is flowing at 34 cfs and is holding at 50 degrees. With the drop in flows the fishing has continued to be excellent. Sulfur season is here and in full swing. Over the last few days the water temp has come up a few degrees helping with the Sulfur hatch. We are seeing the most bug activity around 1 O’clock till dark. The trout have also been keyed into caddis this week. Swinging wet flies through riffles or throwing dries in the slower deeper pools has been working best. The Gunpowder is flowing at a 161 cfs and the water temp is 51 degrees up near the dam. The lower river below where little falls comes in is still very muddy after all this rain. In the upper river the fishing is very good. We are starting to see Sulfurs out on the river with the occasional caddis hatch as well. Fish have been eager to come up to dies in the mid to late afternoon. Fishing nymphs or streamers in the mornings have been producing the best results. The Gunpowder has been flowing at 160 cfs and the water temp is 51degreese in the peak of the day. With these higher flows be careful wading. Be on the lookout for new logs and debris that may have move into a spot. The fishing has been quite good recently. Using a dry dropper rig or an indicator rig has been most effective. Throwing a caddis dry with a small pheasant tail off the back has been producing the most results. Fishing a Spanish bullet or any small heavy mayfly nymph with a caddis nymph above it on the indicator rig has been working well. …
