I’ve cast the Scott X2s rod in line weights 7-10, and they all load and shoot with less line then the S3S series. I currently use a Scott S3S 8 weight rod for bonefish, stripers, and salmon, but the X2S would be a perfect fit for me personally in a 7 weight for the smaller bone fish and schoolie stripers, I encounter over the course of a year. The 8 weight could be considered perfect with a fast action, and soft tip for loading the rod with much less force, than my faster S3S. The 9 or 10 weight X2s won’t wear out rotator cuffs, and can shoot an impressive amount of line with only twenty feet to load the rod. These are smooth casting rods that can still combat the wind and long casts.
