After a typical Friday night laundry run, I stopped in for some wings and a beer in Reisterstown, MD and ran into fellow MDTU member Tom Starrs who asked, “are you here for the pep rally?” Imagine my surprise when I found out it was Purple Friday!

Moments later, Bill Bateman’s was filled with Ravens Cheerleaders, Poe and Sports Steve.Through the rising din of the crowd, Tom related that he had been out on New Year’s day with a small group from Trout Unlimited and managed to ring in the New Year by releasing a nice Little Falls brown on a black woolly bugger.

Just think of how many more fish would have taken a Purple Bugger!
