This morning I was greeted by a smiling regular who was getting an early start on the caddis hatch. He reported releasing a 20 incher yesterday and is still smiling and fishing the Gunpowder. Flows are 120 Cfs and still dropping…Water temps are still in the high 50’s and there seems to be, dare I say it, no end in sight to great fishing..what are you doing this weekend?Following is a stream report from Jeff, another regular that connected last Saturday it reads:
Message: Theaux, Today I caught a 16″ brown, the biggest fish I have pulled from the Gunpowder, moments later I broke that record with an18″ rainbow and on the next cast a 14″ rainbow! I was using a 15′ 6x leader and the March Brown wet fly you suggested. All of the larger fish took the fly on a dead drift but I did catch some smaller guys while swinging it. Thank you for turning me on to those wet flies and for always offering such great advice. Jeff
We have quite a few wet fly patterns that have been acccounting for lots of fish -stop in and check them out.
Note: Check out the new Cloudveil gear, Scott E2 Rods and Lamson reels this weekend.
